Night Raider streaks to second Group win of the year
The transformed Night Raider gathered his second Group-race win of the season with a blistering success in Haddock’s G2 Temple Stakes on a hugely successful day for his trainer Karl Burke.
The five-year-old, who did all his best work late after being slowly away from the stalls, was chased home by last year’s G1 King Charles III Stakes winner American Affair, and that same race is now on the cards for Night Raider.
We’ve always had big faith in the horse and gelding him has made a huge difference,” said Wathan Racing’s Richard Brown. “He will go straight to Royal Ascot.”
Night Raider is now unbeaten this season having started his year by winning the G3 Palace House Stakes at Newmarket, a race also won by his half-brother Far Above. A Listed winner at three, the son of Dark Angel now has six wins to his credit from 16 starts.
