Mint Condition: Haatem Lands the Millions in Kentucky

A real favourite in the Wathnan Racing camp, the lovable Haatem added victory in the $2 million G3 Mint Millions Invitational Stakes at Kentucky Downs to his burgeoning tally of success on Monday.

Already a dual winner at Royal Ascot and placed in both the 2,000 Guineas and Irish 2,000 Guineas, Haatem is now a Graded Stakes winner on his first outing in America. Partnered by Jamie Spencer, he sat fifth on the rail in the early stages before moving up to chase the leaders on the turn and setting sail along the stretch to win with his ears pricked. 

Now five, Haatem has banked almost £1 million in prize-money earnings, with his three G3 successes backing up his juvenile victory in the G2 Vintage Stakes at the Qatar Goodwood Festival. 

He remains an admirable and highly competitive campaigner and is a credit to the team at Richard Hannon Racing.
