G3 success for valiant Native Warrior

12th June 2026

With Royal Ascot just around the corner, Native Warrior led the charge for what we hope will be an exciting spell for Wathnan Racing with an impressive win in the G3 Ballycorus Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday evening.

Trained by Karl Burke and ridden by James Doyle, the five-year-old got the better of Group 1 winner Audience, having always been close to the pace in the seven-furlong contest. He holds at entry for the G3 Minstrel Stakes back in Ireland next month.

Native Warrior had been runner-up in the G3 Prix Edmond Blanc on his seasonal debut and has previously won four races including a competitive heritage handicap at Ascot.

Looking ahead to Royal Ascot, the Wathnan team will be represented by around 40 runners during our favourite meeting of the year.
