Case Clay

RACING MANAGER, USA
Case Clay feature image

Case was brought up in the heart of American racing at his family’s world-renowned Three Chimneys Farm in Kentucky. He began his professional career at the farm in 2004 and held the role of Chief Operating Officer. He oversaw the later years of the stallion careers of some of the most influential North American sires, among them Rahy and Dynaformer, who Clay remembers fondly (despite a famously tricky temperament) for his huge impact in both the States and across the world. When the Clay family sold Three Chimneys in 2014, Case stayed on at the farm as for eight years until finally bidding farewell to Three Chimneys and setting up his own bloodstock agency. Case currently sits on the Board of Keeneland, is a Board Member of the Breeders’ Cup and was formerly the Chair of the Gluck Equine Research Foundation. He was appointed by Wathnan Racing through Olly Tait in August 2023 as American adviser and now racing manager. Case sources horses for potential purchase to run in both the US and also on the dirt tracks of the Middle East in the Wathnan silks.

Making history in a sport that is 350 years old is extraordinarily hard to do… yet that it what Wathnan Racing has already achieved.
